Bravery was not a word Chris liked but it's a word that applies to him. He never moaned about his illness, dispite the fact that he knew his prognosis wasn't good. He never asked "why me". He was always there for others, always being the first to ask a cheerful "how are you". He never wanted to be a burden. He was, in short, a very dignified and couragous man, who i feel privlaged to have known.
In April (2007) he was diagnosed with a malonoma. After a short illness he died in August. He leaves behind a family, whom he adored and spoke of regulary, and a great many friends. And we will miss him. Boy, will we miss him. We will miss his sense of fun, his naughtyness, his tales about his traveling, his sense of humour, his near obsessional chats about Aston Villa, his love of music, his knowledge of trivia, his sense of what was right and wrong. Most of all we will miss a man who gave joy to so many people.
A year has passed since we lost Chris, and his lose is still being felt as strongly as it was this time last year. For one man to leave such a large void in so many people's lives, i think, speaks volumes of the man that Chris was. I know that not a day goes by when someone isn't thinking of him, talking about him and expressing there love they had for him.
